# Before your kickoff (/docs/kickoff/)

> Everything to gather before your kickoff call, so setup starts right away.

Your kickoff call is where we plan your phone and POS setup. Having these ready means we can start the same day instead of waiting on follow-ups. You don't need every answer. Bring what you have, and we'll work out the rest together.

## Your business

- [ ] **Main contact:** the one person who can answer questions and make decisions, with their mobile number. We'll reach out by text or email and ask for a reply within one business day.
- [ ] **Locations:** how many, and the address of each.
- [ ] **Hours:** your open hours, plus the hours you want Virnika answering. They can be your full hours or just your busiest times.
- [ ] **Holiday and special hours** coming up in the next few months.

## Your phones

See [Choose your setup](/docs/phone/options) for what each answer means.

- [ ] **Phone provider**, for example Spectrum, Comcast, Verizon, Nextiva or RingCentral.
- [ ] **VoIP or landline?** If you're not sure, answer these instead:
  - Do you log in to a phone portal to manage settings?
  - Do your phones plug into your network, or into "TEL" ports on your modem?
  - What's the phone product name on your bill?
- [ ] **Account number and PIN or passcode** for your phone account.
- [ ] **Portal login**, or the name and contact of whoever manages your phones (an IT person or company).
- [ ] **How calls reach you today:** how many lines you have, and whether callers hear a phone menu ("Press 1 for…").
- [ ] **A line for transfers:** the number that should ring your staff when a caller needs a person. It can't be the same number customers dial. On a landline, we'll send you a phone for this.

## Your POS

See [Supported POS systems](/docs/orders/pos/supported) to check how we connect to yours.

- [ ] **Which POS** you use at each location.
- [ ] **Ordering partners:** whether you already use Deliverect, Stream or Olo.
- [ ] **An admin login** that can approve new integrations or apps in your POS, or your POS API key if your POS uses one (for example, Heartland Genius).
- [ ] **Your POS reseller or IT contact**, if someone else manages your POS.

## How you want phone orders handled

- [ ] **Pickup, delivery or both.** For delivery, your delivery area and fee.
- [ ] **Payment:** pay at pickup, pay over the phone, or both.
- [ ] **Calls you'd rather staff take**, for example delivery orders, cash payments, catering or large orders.
- [ ] **Menu details callers ask about:** specials, half-and-half pizzas, common nicknames for items, and anything your staff know that the menu doesn't show.
- [ ] **Languages:** whether callers need Spanish.

## After the kickoff

If your POS is supported and your phone system is ready, you can be live the same day. See [How setup works](/docs/#how-setup-works) for the full timeline, and [your part in setup](/docs/#your-part-in-setup) for how to keep it moving.
