# POS integrations overview (/docs/orders/pos/)

> How Virnika sends phone orders to your point of sale.

Virnika sends each phone order straight to your POS, so it prints or shows on your kitchen display just like an online order. We also keep your menu, prices and out-of-stock items in sync with your POS, so callers can only order what you can actually make.

Call flow: Caller (Places an order) → Virnika (Checks the menu and price) → Your POS (Directly or through a partner) → Your kitchen (Ticket or KDS)

Call flow: Your POS (Menu, prices, 86'd items) → Virnika (Stays in sync automatically)

Your onboarding specialist connects your POS for you. Each guide below lists what we'll need from you and what to check in your POS before go-live.

## How long it takes

1. **Connect your POS** (Same day, You + Virnika): You approve the connection or share an API key, depending on your POS.
2. **Import your menu** (Virnika): Items, modifiers, prices and hours come in from your POS.
3. **Menu review** (Virnika): We clean up names for reading aloud, add the nicknames callers use, and check modifier rules.
4. **Test orders** (You + Virnika): We send test orders and confirm each one shows correctly on your POS and kitchen tickets.

Typical total: Same day for supported POS

If your POS connects through a partner like Deliverect or Stream, the partner may need to set up their side first. Your specialist will tell you if that applies.

To stay on schedule, approve the connection or send your POS login or API key as soon as we ask. If a reseller or IT company manages your POS, loop them in early. See [your part in setup](/docs/#your-part-in-setup).
