Virnika sends phone orders to Toast through Stream, an ordering hub that connects to Toast. Phone orders go from Virnika to Stream, and Stream puts them on your Toast POS and kitchen tickets like your other digital orders. Your Toast menu, prices and out-of-stock items stay in sync.

Most of the setup happens between Toast and Stream, and Stream’s team helps you with their side. Your Virnika onboarding specialist connects Virnika to Stream and tests everything with you.

  • Toast Web admin access for each location, so you can add integrations.
  • A Stream account. Stream is a separate service. Your onboarding specialist will go over signing up and any cost before you start.

  3. Stream’s guides walk through the remaining Toast settings. Each one matters for phone orders too:

Remember to publish in Toast after each change. Unpublished settings don’t take effect.

  4. Once Stream shows your Toast connection as active, your onboarding specialist links Virnika to your Stream location and imports your menu. See Stream for how this connection works.

  5. We go over the imported menu with you, then send a test order to make sure it prints in your kitchen and shows correctly in Toast. After that, you’re ready to go live.

Toast orders follow the Stream integration. See Stream for the details on menu sync, payments, fees and order notes. In short:

  • Make menu changes in Toast. They flow to Stream and on to Virnika.
  • 86 an item in Toast and Virnika stops offering it.
  • Orders land in Toast with PHONE ORDER in the notes. Pay-at-pickup orders also say ** PAY IN STORE **.
Items are missing from the phone menu

Check that the items are visible for online ordering in Toast, following Stream’s menu visibility guide, and that the menu is published. Then ask your specialist to re-import the menu.

Delivery orders come in as takeout

Toast needs a dining option with Delivery behavior. Without one, delivery orders fall back to a Takeout option. See Stream’s dining options guide.

An order didn't reach Toast

Stream shows why an order was rejected. Stream’s guide to understanding order errors explains each one. If you can’t tell what went wrong, email help@virnika.ai with the time of the call.
